Today we were shown once again that the crowdfunding industry will likely never cease to amaze us. We received an inquiry today through our contact page calling our attention to a Crowdfunding Platform who’s site has been online for 12 years and have processed over $40 million in transactions but somehow we had never heard of them. Likely you may not have either. This led us to jumping on the site, where we were compelled to write and post a review immediately (as all too many crowdfunding service providers know, reviews requested are often not posted for a minimum of two weeks) but with this new information we felt we had to bring this crowdfunding platform to our readers attention immediately.
MyEvent.com does indeed have an 11 year history online, although their entrance in to the crowdfunding space is relatively new, we are going out on a limb and guaranteeing their success. This stems from not only their history of successful online offerings but some product differentiation that truly sets them apart from many of the players in the marketplace.
There are many features we could cover but the first (and most impressive) that jumps out at us is the fact that MyEvent.com offers its own payment processing. Not only offering users substantially lower fees BUT allowing donors to avoid using PayPal or WePay if so inclined. This brings their administration and payment processing to amongst the lowest in the industry.
Another key feature offered is the ability (for a minimal monthly fee) to offer ticket sales, online auctions, sponsor pages and (our personal favorite) your OWN DOMAIN NAME. We have long stated that if crowdfunding project creators are marketing and driving traffic to a project, they should control the domain that they are sending that traffic to – Problem solved!
