The Knowledge College Hostel will be a budget hostel set in Swedish Lapland, not only a Hostel for the traditional backpacking wanderers and explorers it also will serve as a “Knowledge College” a contemporary concept where all forms of knowledge is shared and swapped, within an open classroom environment, it is designed for those who learn and teach.
The premise is simple you Know you teach you listen you learn. Teachers and pupils will be drawn from the hostel , those who want to teach will have accommodation charge waived. This offer is open to all so if you believe you can captivate the attention of fellow travellers for at least 40min then go for it! All classes are free.
Anyone can offer to teach the 2 daily classes and everybody have access to the lectures.
One day you teach next day you may become the pupil.
The lectures will be video recorded and stored in a open source virtual library where anyone can access, download and copy.
As far as we are aware this is the first of its kind. Although open knowledge centers are as ancient as the flint knife there has not been a knowledge swapping system set within a hostel where the knowledge providers are drawn from the guests as are the students.
