Last week we had the pleasure to meet Dan Salganik, Co-Founder of FunderHut a donation and reward Crowdfunding Platform. In the fast growing crowdfunding industry where most connections are made online it is often difficult to get a feel for the passion an individual has for their business. Our conversation with Dan made it clear that FunderHut has a passion for Crowdfunding and a unique passion for helping campaign creators succeed. They are bringing individual attention to the campaigns they host unlike other players we have met in the industry. FunderHut has taken a local, community based take on crowdfunding and from what we see, it’s working. They’re a small but growing player focused on building a successful crowdfunding site city by city. They are thinking Globally but acting Locally!
Here is a brief summary we received from FunderHut:
“FunderHut is a community-focused crowdfunding platform, helping small businesses, nonprofits, and individuals fundraise online. Since launch, our platform has helped campaigners locally and as far away as a small Russian town in the heart of Siberia. Our vision is different from that of other platforms, and our goal is to help members of a community support their local small businesses, nonprofits, and each-other by collectively coming together and giving any amount that they can in order to make a goal become a reality.”
“We like to get to know our project creators and learn about their fundraising goals. We’re furthering our one-on-one commitment to our users by offering a new service, crowdfunding consulting, to provide extra support for our project creators who may require extra help or just have questions about their campaign.”
“The Community Wishlist is also a unique FunderHut feature, allowing users to post wishes for their own communities. From there, they can vote, discuss, and convert wishes into live crowdfunding campaigns with the click of a button.”
Crowdfunding-Website-Reviews will be watching this Chicago based Crowdfunding platform closely as we expect to see continued growth from FunderHut.
Bigger is not always better especially when FunderHut has shown the ability to take a personal interest in helping campaign creators projects succeed.
We recommend you put them on your short-list of crowdfunding platforms to explore, prior to making the decision of where to host your crowdfunding project.
