Hi, My name is Indhira Gil. I'm a medical student from the Dominican Republic. Volunteering is something that I really love to spend time doing. It brings me a lot of joy to see the happiness in other people if I can do just one small act to make their day or their week better.


In 2010 I went on a humanitarian trip to Haiti after the earthquake, it was a terrible situation out there but I was happy because I was able to give my hand and help those people that really needed, I have to say that going on that trip has been one of the most enriching experiences that i could ever had, since that time have dedicated my life to help others in any cause I can, have been involved in some organizations here in the Dominican Republic that works helping people in deferents causes and also on my own.


For a very long time I have dreamed about going on a volunteer trip around Latin American to help other people in deferents causes. also with this trip i want to learn from the culture of this countries in order to understand this people which I know that will show me another perspective of life.


Now to the point all of this, the hardest part for me, and where you all come in: I am going to shamelessly ask you all for your assistance in making this financially possible for me. While volunteering this time and hard work to help those countries and those people there less fortunate than us will come with so many unimaginable emotional and spiritual rewards, it unfortunately does not come with any financial income in return. All donations funds raised will be used towards assisting me to get to these countries and assist on some basics needs, I`m planning to do couchsurfing as much as i can and also to sleep on tents and things like that. I’m trying to make this trip at the lowest cost as possible.


Any assistance would be graciously accepted and thoroughly appreciated, anything you are able or willing to give would be so selfless and generous of you. And if you are unable to I completely understand how hard the struggle can be these days and I simply appreciate you taking the time to read this through.


Of course once I know more I will keep you all updated on where your dollar will be going to.
