Hi, my name is Rashad Heagle. I am a 15 year old male in the tenth grade at Miami Country Day School. I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. I enjoy dancing, taking photographs, acting, singing, playing sports, helping people, and trying new things. For a long while, I have had a strong desire to attend college and live in Australia. I love everything about Australia. Many people think I am obsessed with it; they are correct. Many people ask what do I want to do in Australia once I establish my life there. My goals are to attend the University of Melbourne in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, earn a degree in Arts and Commerce, and establish a dance studio called The Australian Dance Connection. When I tell people that I would love to attend university in Australia, they suggest that I participate in a study abroad program. Therefore, I started searching on what programs allowed a study abroad trip to Australia. I came across this wonderful site called Travel For Teens. They host one Australian/New Zealand trip every summer for American teens in 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 grade (when kids are on summer break in the USA, the kids in Australia are still in school). This Australian/New Zealand study abroad tour takes place in Sydney, Brisbane, Kuranda, Queenstown, and Milford Sound. Many people that have experienced this trip firsthand have deemed it to be one of their most memorable moments. Also, during the Australian/New Zealand, the participating students earn 20+ hours of community service credits, assisting a non-profit sanctuary dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of Australia’s unique indigenous wildlife. I would really like to attend this wonderful trip, but there is one thing that is hindering me. This trip/tour is very expensive, and will be very hard for my family and I to manage on our own. The trip's total cost (including airfare) is approximately $7,000.
Please donate and help me reach my goal of traveling to Australia/New Zealand for the summer of 2016, and actually experiencing the Australian culture. Any donation amount will be appreciated.
